Gucci is a brand that sits at centre of the fashion world . As one of the biggest  brand successes , Gucci is at the top of it's game . Since Alessandro Michele took the helm of this Italian luxury house in 2015 the brand has soared and his distinctive collections have set this meteoric rise .Gucci is a brand on the move.

Why we all love Gucci

Last September the Spring /Summer show for the house of Gucci kicked off Milan fashion week. According to notes for the show titled Magic Lanterns "tells a story steeped in wonder, phantasmagoria, and orthodoxy'. The show was an odd mix of bright colors ,embroidery and signature prints. While some historical references to Chinese dynasties and Renaissance Venice were made we felt the 1980's disco world was ever-present. Consequently  this rather strange juxtaposition created a powerful show of distinct visions and images. I love the whimsical approach and the innovative designs that have saved this once troubled brand.

Family disputes in the 1970's and 1980's left the company in disarray and by 1993 the business was near bankruptcy. Therefore a much needed restructure took place . Due to the efforts under Tom Ford and then Frida Giannini , and many growing pains the brand was revived.    

Michele's Gucci has caught the imagination of the world and the balance ledger proves it .Therefore you don't have to look far to see that this brand is selling. With profits up 11.5 percent in one year to a record 3.9 billion euro's under Allesandro'Michele's vision . Hence the largest growth of 50% with the under 34 crowd helps justify the kooky pieces that both thrill and delight.

Therefore to this cross between disco and circus ,medieval Italy and Shanghai opium dens, we add couture detailing and innovation. All of this is a big pull to new young customers. However most noteworthy is that this brand has a huge established clientele .These loyal customers still find beautiful offerings of trousers suits, boucle skirts and classic handbags . Therefore I say with great delight this eclectic brand has offerings for everyone.
