When I think of Michelle Obama I think of a self assured , strong and powerful woman. Therefore it came as no surprise that the former first lady had written her biography. With politics being front and center the last while, and with the mid-term elections putting some wind in the sails Michelle Obama published her memoir " Becoming".

Since we all love the former first lady it is another remarkable moment to see her on the book tour stage. Therefore darlings I may be well read, but I am not a book reviewer ,and will leave that to those more expert than myself .  However there is one area that I am an expert and that's style . Furthermore I am fascinated by the style of the former first lady. Since it is this amazing sense of style that has made her an unlikely fashion icon.

MICHELLE OBAMA " BECOMING" A FASHION ICON

With Michelle Obama's book Becoming quickly becoming a huge best seller she has taken on a huge book tour. Therefore with the onslaught of public appearances we have the opportunity to take a firsthand look at Michelle's style.

Therefore this means we get to revel in near-daily new outfits from the stylish former first lady. So far this week, she's set a clear tone for her tour looks: It's all about the power pantsuit. In fact, she's worn four different versions in as many days.

Moreover former first ladies have stood out as fashion icons , most note worthy is Jackie Kennedy . However not until Michelle Obama has a first lady taken clothes from the Gap to high-end designers to create a flawless wardrobe rarely taking a wrong step.

Since Mrs. Obama cuts an imposing figure it is one of her great advantages as a style icon. When a woman has height it helps and Michelle has height and an amazing figure . What I love about her book tour looks so far is she looks graceful , comfortable and stylish in some great pant suit looks .

MICHELLE OBAMA FASHION ICON

Certainly we all saw Michelle Obama for eight years as first lady. However it was not until she left the white house that her true style flourished . Therefore it is now after two years that we see her penchant for the pant suit. Since Michelle Obama started her recent book tour, we have seen an amazing array of pant suits . Furthermore it is these looks that have made me proclaim her fashion icon status. Moreover we have seen first ladies rise to fashion icon , but I doubt that we have seen anyone one of them use strong fashion images to promote their point of view. Michelle Obama has carefully crafted the image of a strong, independent woman of the 21st century.
