ANOTHER DAVID

Another David presented on Wednesday 9th October VFW SS20. Rarely do I cover menswear on this blog, however when attending Vancouver Fashion Week I saw some collections worthy of my attention. Girls, if you are looking for contemporary and easy fashion for your guy, consider Another David.

Marco Rossi is a young designer who looks to have a bright future. Marco comes to us from Italy,where from a young age he had a keen interest in fashion . His interest in fashion and art lead him to study at the Istituto Italiano Design in Perugia. The collection presented at Vancouver Fashion Week is an extension of Marco's graduate thesis.

Who is the David of Another David ? Is he the statue of David, David Beckham or David Dobrik ? In fact, he is every David. He has the classic foundation of Michelangelo's David, the swagger of soccer star David Beckham, and the hip , cool ease of you-tuber David Dobrik. Certainly, a contemporary "every-man".

ANOTHER DAVID THE COLLECTION

While, I may not be the ideal customer for this brand , I am a part of that "every-man". In fact, with a couple of exceptions I would pack every one of these pieces in my suitcase for my annual winter vacation down south. Moreover, what some call resort wear or cruise wear is often a label of the past, although this brand makes it new again.

Certainly, this brand is not restricted to that winter get-a-way. The color palette might well have be taken from an Italian sunset , white , Indigo and that on trend pop of orange. Bucket hats, mid calf shorts, casual easy pants and an interesting array of tops are the backbone of the collection. My favorite pieces include an effortless grey suit with short pants and a contemporary string vest that is a statement piece.

Furthermore Marco Rossi presented a refined collection the is ready to be taken to market. In addition, all pieces in this collection were well finished and executed , to the high standards of the Italian Fashion Industry. I was excited to meet and converse with Marco Rossi and his colleague Benedetta Risolo - Head of Internationals at Istituto Italiano Design in Perugia .

WHAT'S HOT

MY ORANGE CRUSH

Darling's there are few trends that caught my eye as much as a "a pop of orange". During Vancouver Fashion Week the trend came to the forefront not only on the runway but in the street style.  New York, London, Paris, and Milan Fashion Weeks all showed us pops off orange. Therefore, my dears if you don't want to look like the great pumpkin this October but want to be on trend try a pop of orange.

IN CONCLUSION; ANOTHER DAVID

What set this collection apart was the ease with which the models wore the clothes. Upon speaking with them they all felt great in the clothes and loved the style. Whether or not we take it for granted, these are possibly the best compliments a designer can receive " I loved wearing the clothes" and "I feel really good in these clothes". Another David is a brand that will attract attention for it's contemporary and easy style.
