HOW FEATHERS MADE COSTUMES FABULOUS<\/span><\/h2>\n

How feathers have missed the fashion trend until now I'm not sure . Since you all know that I am a fan of old Hollywood and Hollywood costumes, it's not a big stretch that I love feathers. In fact feathers are part of the golden age of Hollywood . For instance who can't see the great Mae West adorned in feathers and see glamour.\u00a0In the same way the legendary Ginger Rogers took flight on the dance floor with Fred Astaire and myriads of ostrich feathers.<\/p>\n

While a lot of my personal association with feathers involves drag queens and mirror balls, I also used feathers as a costume staple. Hence the wearing of plumage has brought glamour to both the stage and screen. Fortunately we have Turners Classic Movies<\/a> and others bringing these fabulous films to a new generation. Therefore we can see Barbara Streisand as Dolly Levi with her amazing plumes .<\/p>\n

. Of course who can't recall the great images of Vegas show girls strutting their stuff in feathers. At the same time other stage performers donned amazing feathers . The legendary Marlene Dietrich\u00a0<\/a> wore amazing feathers for her concerts tours. While feathers may not have had a place in the closet of modern women they really stole the show.
